Cultivation of crucian carp. Advantages and disadvantages

The carp has a long fin, and the body is high with a thick back. On the sides - moderately compressed. It grows up to 50 cm, the maximum weight is 3 kg. There are the following types of crucian carp:

  • common or gold - common in Europe;
  • silver - from the Pacific Rim;
  • goldfish - bred in China from goldfish.

Terms

A fairly unpretentious fish. It grows even in swampy and shallow water bodies. Easily tolerates a lack of oxygen - up to 1-2 mg / l and pH fluctuations. Withstands temperatures up to 36 ° C.

Feeding

Crucians are omnivorous, in nature they eat mollusks, larvae and other animals. When breeding, they feed with a special feed, but you can also give pork compound feed, cereals without salt.

Reproduction

Puberty - at 3-4 years of age. Spawning - in the spring. Eggs are laid on vegetation.

Breeding

When living together, the golden carp displaces the silver carp. The demand for crucian carp is high. Diluted in natural and artificial reservoirs. Breeding begins with the purchase of fry. Minus - they grow slowly, light weight and are inferior to carp in taste. Plus - simplicity of breeding, feeding and low cost of growing.
